Abstract:

According to the ancients and now supported by modern science, stagnant energy is the fundamental basis for the physiological and psychological dis-eases. We often disregard or silence the body's attempt to heal and thus create further imbalances. In this dynamic workshop, Jessica and Kyle will lead you through a series of tai chi, yoga and dance inspired movements and exercises to aid your discovery of areas of blocked energetic pathways. You will receive tools and the support needed to liberate emotional, physical and psychological stagnation. Come with a willingness to enhance your body-mind-spirit awareness and open gateways to receive greater inspiration, creativity and communion with the higher self.

We will heat things up with a vigorous Vinyasa flow, keep the energy moving with an uplifting Kundalini Kriya set, and top it off with a deep relaxation and meditation.
This dynamic blend combines the liberating flow of breath and movement called Vinyasa with the most powerful and fastest acting yoga available for balancing the chakras and attaining enlightenment called Kundalini. It is the mother of all yoga styles.
This hour-and-a-half session will infuse a vital energy force to your Fuente experience.
All levels are welcome. Come prepared to sweat, play in the moment and leave in bliss. Bring a yoga mat (and extras if you have them), water and your breath. Avoid eating at least an hour before the class.

				Choose Happiness
				Friday: 12-1:00pm

    Speaker:
			Eric Karpinski

		Bio:
The Fuente/Burning Man community is one of the most important things in my life. You all have helped show me how to live and how to love and given me space to fully express who I am. You’ve also given me the strength to pursue passion, love and community in all parts of my life. This helped me find the courage to leave a lucrative but passionless career to become a happiness workshop leader and life coach. Now I want to gift one of my happiness workshops to you at Fuente. And if I miss you at the workshop, find me on the dance floor anytime for an energizing hug!

		Abstract:
Do you want to be happier than you are today? Very few people would answer no to that question, yet most of us continue to act and talk to ourselves in ways that significantly diminish our happiness.

I’ve been intensively studying the practical aspects of increasing happiness for a number of years learning all I can from spiritual and scientific sources. There is so much wonderful material that is helping me live a more fulfilling life I decided I needed to share this information with the world. I have pulled the best of what I’ve learned into a series of four Choosing Happiness Workshops. I offered the first at SoCal Decom and will be offering the second at Fuente (they can be done completely independently). See my website (choosehappinessToday.com) if you want to catch the other workshops around San Diego. The most important aspect to take away is that you can CHOOSE to be happier by the actions you take and by how you view what happens to you. Come learn how!

            Anapana Meditation
        Friday: 9:00am

    By: Katya

Come and join us for meditation on Friday morning, at 9:00am.

Learn the basics of the Anapana Sati Breathing Meditation, which is taught in Vipassana (insight) meditation to develop samhadi, a subtle form of concentration which manifests insight into the nature of consciousness.

Anapana sati, the meditation on in-and-out breathing, is the first subject of meditation expounded by the Buddha in the Maha-satipatthana Sutta, the Great Discourse on the Foundations of Mindfulness. The Buddha laid special stress on this meditation, for it is the gateway to enlightenment and Nibbana adopted by all the Buddhas of the past as the very basis for their attainment of Buddhahood. When Gottama sat at the foot of the Bodhi Tree and resolved not to rise until he had reached enlightenment, he took up anapana sati as his subject of meditation.

Please bring a meditation cution or something to sit on. Some extra cushions and meditation blankets will be provided.

DON’T BE DUMB: This is a basic rule that has a wide variety of practical
applications.

2. BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS: This is an outdoor event that is
far removed from…. Well…. Anything. Be sure to mindful of where you are.
There are a lot of uneven surfaces, rocks, holes, and things you would expect to
find outdoors.

3. SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY: While the organizers have
taken great steps to ensure the safety of those who attend, we ask that you feel
empowered to help keep the event safe. In short… if you see someone breaking
RULE #1, don’t be afraid to tell them. If you don’t feel comfortable telling them,
PLEASE tell us.

4. LEAVE NO TRACE: As you might expect, this is a LEAVE NO TRACE
EVENT. What does that mean? It means that while we have taken steps with the
canyon to ensure that our trash is handled in a eco-friendly fashion, we do expect
you to minimize your impact, and be prepared to haul your trash to the
appropriate place.

5. RESPECT: To most of us, this goes without saying. Respect your own space
and that of others. If you feel that your space is threatened by anyone or anything,
PLEASE grab your nearest Ranger or Organizer.

6. DON’T BE DUMB: Seriously… we mean it.

7. PARTY SMART: Do not engage in activities that put yourself or your fellow
attendees at risk… no matter what state you’re in.

8. LISTEN: The Organizers and Rangers are there to keep things safe and
serene for everyone. Please don’t argue with them.

9. TRAVEL SMART: Carpool. Don’t Drive at Night. Try not to stop at all from crossing the border, to arrival in the canyon.

  OPENING CEREMONEY

Waking Spirit” – Performed by SoulVoice

Through the art of indigenous ritual and performance we set the intention to create a gateway that may allow us access and exploration into the depths of connection. Connection to self, each other, the canyon of guadalupe, and mother earth herself. A performance honoring native American traditions to experience the intrinsic connection to all of life that the tribes of our ancestors called spirit. We come to celebrate through performance to honor the waking spirit within us all.

    Smoke Blower
    VISUAL ARTIST

A self-styled and self-taught video artist, Smoke Blower's sometimes bizarre and often humorous visuals will back - and sometimes complement - much of the music at the main stage. Smoke Blower "borrows" his visuals from many sources ranging from commercial films to TV to cartoons and even his own films, resulting in a mashup of imagery on multiple independently controlled screens. He's most happy when everyone stops dancing to stare in wonder (or disgust) at the video.

A place for people; to chill, talk, enjoy music, dance, be artistic, and absorb the canyon surroundings. A cozy vibe of enchantment to draw you into the beats and chords of nature and music. In 2010, the lounge will be shared by the main stage.

If possible, drive early in the day to avoid traffic, especially if you are driving from LA. Follow the following guide.
	1) DO NOT DRIVE LATE AT NIGHT.
		2) CARAVAN WITH OTHERS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
		3) GATES WILL BE OPEN FROM 10:00am - 11:00pm (coordinate your arrival between these hours)
		4) Need a high clearance vehicle. Does not have to be 4x4
		5) No RVs or trailers will be able to pass through
		6) DO NOT DRIVE ON THE LAKE BED THIS YEAR. DUE TO FLOODS IT IS TOO WET AND YOU WILL BE STUCK NO MATTER HWO GOOD OF A 4 X 4 YOU GOT. INSTEAD TAKE THE CANYOND DE GUADALUPE EXIT AND USE THE GRADED ROAD (WASHBOARD). (sometimes Federales will flag you down for questioning, but do not be alarmed. They are in military hummers and are respectful, but do not stop for anyone else that seem suspicious)
DIRECTIONS

THROUGH MEXICALI (US boarder is open 24 hours)The safest route is through Calexico/Mexicali. The border is open 24 hours a day. Majority of the drive is on the US side, there are no check points and no toll ways. From interstate-5/805 head south and take I-8 east towards El Centro. Take highway 98 towards Calexico and turn right onto highway 111 going west towards the US/Mexico border.IMPORTANT: After going through the border, stay to your furthest possible right lane when passing through the border crossing, but not the furthest right lane, which is for cars that have to declare valubbles.
Once you pass the line. immediately turn right (see map below) onto the first street. This first street is only 50 feet away from the border passing. If you happen to miss it, don't panic keep going and take the next right, which is a one way street and when you reach the stop sign, make another right and you wil lbe back on track.
Follow the road (while it curves slight right) until you pass over a small bridge and keep to your right. After the bridge, go strait for 6 blocks (series of STOP SIGNS), then turn left on Colegio Militar (see map below). You will pass through several STOP signs going strait (I have attached a google map to this and also can be printed from http://www.blueinsomnia.com/mexicali.jpg) After 2.5 miles, you will reach a round about (UNDER CONSTRUCTION THIS YEAR, SO FOLLWO THE SIGNS FOR DETOUR), continue going strait on the same axis until the road merges with highway 2. (IF YOU GET LST, ASK TO GET ON HWY 2) Follow on highway 2 going north-west. After 13 miles, you will see the dried lakebed to your left. You will see the sign for Laguna Salada. Continue until you see he exit sign for Canyon De Guadalupe. Get on teh graded dirt road and drive for 27.2 miles.

At 27.2 mi., upon reaching the Italian olive plantation, turn LEFT onto another graded dirt road signed "CANON de GUADALUPE". Keep going towards Canyon De Guadalupe. This last segment begins with 7 mi. of mostly good but increasingly winding dirt road, and ends with 0.6 mi. of primitive dirt road. You will pass a gate, just continue until you reach the greeter station.
